Originally we had hoped to have the process wrapped up by now however individual schedules put us behind just a bit.  Regardless, we’re back on track and hope to have final tracking completed by February.

What makes this news even better is the fact that our good friends Southern Governor is also in the process of releasing their first project, and we are currently working together for a very unique release concept.

Southern Governor’s project was recorded in Kentucky, produced by Chris Robertson (front man of national act Black Stone Cherry).  A few of us in 8LS was given the opportunity to listen to a sneak peek and all we can say that it is killer.  In fact, Robertson was able to find and reproduce the gem inside these guys that was just waiting to bust out, and we’re sure that the final product is going to definitely go places.

Now for the really cool part; both CD’s look like they will have a release date that is very close to one another so we said, “What the hell, let’s do a dual release party!”

With that, here’s the game plan; both bands are working on individual sponsorship that will entirely fund the release party.  Utilizing this approach allows this release party to be completely free to the public and also allow both bands to hand out their CD’s absolutely free to up to 200 fans!  We are hoping to throw this shindig sometime in spring, and are currently considering a couple of different venues that can best host the party.

So, this spring, get ready for one hell of a party where you’ll not only hear both bands rock it out for free but you’ll also get a free CD from each.  We’ll keep you posted with more details as that time approaches.

Also, we just ordered custom guitar picks and that means earrings!  These puppies only go for $5 and we can’t keep enough of ‘em in stock.  These are black Dunlop guitar picks emblazoned with the 8LS logo dangling from your cute little face.  We are hoping to have these very soon!

Last but certainly not least, our CD’s.  First is “Self-Inflicted Wounds” recorded in 2008 when we were still just pups.  It’s full of great tunes, many of which we play live today.  The second release, “Outcast” is our heavy hitter.  If you dig straight-up, in your face rock, this one’s for you as it is non-stop action.  Like the other goodies, CD’s are always available at our shows.  The can also be ordered through CD Baby, I-Tunes, Amazon, and others.  Hit the links to your right and you’ll be hooked up.
